ZENcinitas is a family collaboration, actually a mother-son partnership that developed out of shared interests and artistic talents.
Laura Keany
Southern California raised ASID certified interior designer, Laura Keany specializes in designing casually elegant beach homes from Hawaii to Martha’s Vineyard. She was also the lead floral designer in the family’s commercial orchid nursery South Coast Orchids. These creative experiences, along with an Art degree from SDSU have currently lead her into a world of stationery design. With an emphasis on mindful living, yoga and a love for coastal living she has created a variety line of product from cards and candles, to t-shirts and home goods. The unique designs vary from whimsical to refined, always with a positive perspective intended to inspire the sharing of life’s special occasions and simple moments.
Sean Keany
Living in Encinitas, Sean Keany reflects the “ZENcinitas” lifestyle with his love of yoga, surfing, healthy eating and the beach lifestyle. Sean is an accomplished artist graduating with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara in Studio Art. His large, abstract paintings have been featured internationally and grace many homes. He is also an avid surfer/shaper and certified yoga instructor. Sean recently sold his start-up business, Sundial Farm a certified organic, hydroponic farm that focuses on small business, locally sustainable practices primarily sold at local farmers’ markets in “ZENcinitas”
Sean is the artist behind the one-of-a-kind, watercolor cards. He hand-painted and hand-typed each card with an old-fashioned typewriter, as a nod to creativity before computer graphics. These mini works of art are in the same circle motif of his latest series of paintings.
